While many people have favorite rides at Disney World, most people who have visited the theme parks also have favorite food and drinks, too!

Maybe you love the iconic snacks of Disney World (I know I do!). Or maybe the Disney drinks are more your style.

Perhaps you have a favorite beverage, such as Epcot’s violet lemonade that makes an appearance during the Flower and Garden Festival.

Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios is home to many beloved beverages that you can recreate at home! I love this Tatooine Sunset recipe for its bright and refreshing flavors.

And if you’ve ever been to the Milk Stand in Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World, you’ve probably had blue milk or green milk.

Today, we’re sharing our take on the popular blue milk recipe, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic variations.

What is Blue Milk?

Star Wars fans will likely remember that Blue milk, also known as Bantha milk, was seen in the Star Wars movies as a common drink available on Outer Rim planets such as Batuu, Lah’mu, and Tatooine.

Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, has said the beverage he had to drink while filming tasted terrible. Lucky for us, that doesn’t have to be the case!

If you haven’t had it before, Blue Milk is a plant-based beverage sold at the Milk Stand in the Galaxy’s Edge area of Hollywood Studios.

It’s a non-alcoholic Star Wars beverage made with a blend of rice milk and coconut milk, with fruit flavors infused.

It’s also available as a Blue Milk Cooler for adults, which includes the addition of Bacardi rum.

Oga’s Cantina also serves a Blue Bantha, which is a non-alcoholic blue milk and a vanilla sugar cookie.

How to Make Blue Milk

It’s easy to make Blue Milk at home, and the recipe can be easily tweaked based on your preferences.

For our version, we’re adding vanilla ice cream instead of milk for a cool and creamy sweet treat–sort of like a Galaxy’s Edge blue milk smoothie or milkshake.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

How to Make It:

Blend. Combine all ingredients in the jar of a blender. It’s a good idea to start out with just a couple drops of blue food dye–you can add more afterward if you want a more pronounced color.

Blend until smooth and creamy!

Serve. Divide between glasses, then top with whipped cream and a cherry for a special treat!

Where to Find Ingredients

Finding vanilla ice cream and pineapple juice should be pretty easy! But you may not be familiar with finding some of the other ingredients.

Passion fruit juice is sold in many grocery stores–Goya and Welch’s brands are fairly easy to find. Some brands are sold in the refrigerated section, while others are in the shelf-stable juice aisle.

For the syrups, I love using Monin syrups in my beverages. These are readily available on Amazon.

You can get this coconut syrup, and either rock melon syrup (which I also use in my Tatooine Sunset recipe) or watermelon syrup.

Notes and Adaptations:

  • If you want a boozy version, omit the coconut syrup and add 2-4 ounces of coconut rum to the blender.
  • If you prefer a thinner beverage, you can use milk (coconut, rice, or dairy) in place of the ice cream.
