PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's basketball team, coming off a 2-1 week and sitting at 5-2 overall (2-0 in Empire 8), will head south to face Penn State Berks on Tuesday, Dec. 5. Tip-off in Reading, Penn. is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Last Times Out
The Cardinals opened last week with a rare home loss, dropping a game to Ithaca, 69-55. They recovered by opening their Empire 8 schedule with two victories: beating Hartwick, 75-61, and then Sage, 84-33. 
 
Know Your Foe
One of several campuses of Penn State University, Penn State Berks is located near Reading, Pennsylvania's fourth-largest city. The Nittany Lions play in the United East Conference (formerly the NEAC). The Lions enter Tuesday's game with a 1-7 record, with their lone win coming against the University of Valley Forge on Nov. 16. Most recently, they fell to United East rival Penn College, 67-42. Tuesday's game will be the first meeting between St. John Fisher and Berks. 
 
Dynamic Duo
Junior guard Sidney Tomasso and freshman forward Joleen Lusk continue to propel the Cardinals. Tomasso currently stands second in the Empire 8 in rebounds-per-game (8.9) and minutes-per-game (33.7), third in points-per-game (15.9), and fourth in free throw percentage (.852). Lusk, meanwhile, is second in the conference in points-per-game (16.6), third in field goal percentage (.511), and fourth in rebounds-per-game (7.9). 
 
Player To Watch
Senior guard Claire Kruszka has been one of the top defensive players in the Empire 8 this season and leads the conference in steals per game (3.0). The graduate of Frontier High School also ranks among league leaders in assists-per-game (third, 2.9) and three-pointers per game (fourth, 1.7). 
 
What's Next
After facing Berks, the Cardinals return home to host SUNY Cortland on Saturday in the final game before winter break begins.
